NOTE: Our prices are usually in the lower range of the standard industry ones listed below.
Book cover
Getting an excellent book cover is a necessary investment. The standard industry cost to hire a professional book cover designer typically ranges from $500 to $2000.
Editing
Professional editing is generally considered a necessary expense, too. The standard industry price range for a good editor is $500 - $1,800.
Book formatting
Correct formatting of your book's text and images is required, as well. The standard industry price range is $300 - $1,500.
Proofreading
Proofreading is an optional but highly recommended service. The average cost to hire a professional proofreader is from $250 to $800 (approximately $0.02 per word).
Writing your book
Hopefully, you will write your book by yourself. In that case, the monetary price (not the cost of time) will be free. However, if you need to hire a professional ghostwriter, the standard industry prices will largely depend on the ghostwriter’s experience and your specific book genre and length.
$6,500 - $40,000 for nonfiction books
$3,500 - $16,000 for novels
$1,500 - $5,000 for picture books

"If you are considering writing a book, I suggest contacting Richard Grassi at Cedar Books. He will guide you, step by step, through the process of creating and publishing a book you're proud of. In my case, he listened carefully to understand what my goals were. Then, he applied his expertise as an author, artist, and English professor to take my book to a whole new level. I highly recommend him!"

for Small Business Success
"I was working on my first book, which has been a goal that I have held for a long time. I was nervous about the process as my only experience before this was publishing a dissertation. However, Richard Grassi was amazing to work with and made the process extremely easy and comfortable. I plan to work with Richard again in any future works that I plan to publish. Richard answered all my questions, provided any required feedback, and gave me advice on how to made any necessary edits. I recommend him to anyone seeking to publish."
